The location of the cottage was fantastic, with beautiful views of the fields, hills, and sea. It was just a minute's walk to the beach, which was a real treat. the cottage itself was comfortable and cozy, with all the necessary amenities provided. We especially enjoyed the wood burner, which was not only fantastic but also very economical. the parking facilities were excellent, and it was convenient to have a shop nearby for odds and ends. the host was lovely and made us feel at home. it was a lovely getaway.

The lack of amenities in the immediate area. There was nothing much in Allonby, so having a car was necessary.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely little cottage overlooking fields and hills with sea views to the right. It was fully equipped and comfortable, with a wood burner that was both fantastic and economical. the location was unbeatable, just a one-minute walk to the beach. Parking was also very good. the host, Vera, was amazing and made us feel right at home. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh towels, toiletries, and provisions such as tea, coffee, milk, and sugar. We would definitely consider coming back in the future. The neighboring guests were smokers, which meant that there was some inconvenience for those sensitive to smoke.

The accommodation at Dove Cottage was absolutely superb. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with attention to detail that went above and beyond our expectations. The hosts had thought of everything - from providing his and hers deodorant to ensuring that there were proper bottles of shampoo and other toiletries. The cottage was extremely well-equipped and impeccably clean, even providing towels and bowls for our furry friend. The views from the front door were simply breathtaking, with the Lakeland fells and the Scottish coast just a stone's throw away. We couldn't have asked for more.
